The establishment of this center not only fills the gap in China's refrigeration industry, home appliance industry, and air conditioning industry in terms of national engineering technology research centers, but also marks that Gree Electric Appliances has become a scientific research, development, and engineering base for energy-saving and environmentally friendly refrigeration equipment in China.

      The "National Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Refrigeration Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center" established this time will face the entire refrigeration equipment industry, fully integrate various scientific and technological resources, and address major key, fundamental, and common technical problems in the development of energy conservation and environmental protection refrigeration equipment. Through various channels such as independent research and development, industry university research cooperation, and introduction and absorption, it will conduct systematic, complementary, and engineering research and development, promote the industrial structure adjustment of the refrigeration industry, further improve the independent innovation capability of China's refrigeration industry, and promote the technological progress and industrial optimization and upgrading of China's refrigeration equipment industry.

      It is reported that the total investment of the center is 160 million yuan, of which 13 million yuan is allocated by the Ministry of Science and Technology and local departments.
